Welcome to Our Reception and Year 1 Class!
In our vibrant mixed Reception and Year 1 classroom, every day is an exciting opportunity to explore, discover, and grow together.
We provide a nurturing and stimulating environment where curiosity is encouraged and learning is brought to life through play, creativity, and meaningful questions.
Our Reception and Year 1 children learn side-by-side in a supportive, stimulating environment where every child is encouraged to grow at their own pace.
This year, our young learners will dive into a rich and varied curriculum. We will build strong foundations in phonics and maths with daily lessons tailored to support early literacy and numeracy skills.
Our Science, Computing, and Music lessons help spark imagination and critical thinking, while PE every Monday keeps us active, healthy, and having fun. Through PSHE and RE, we will learn about ourselves, our feelings, and the diverse world around us.
We will also be exploring some big questions together, like:
- Is Brixton a cool place to live?
- Who was the first to walk the planet?
- Where does our food come from?
- How have homes changed over time?
- Why do we need Parks?
- What is a composer?
These questions will guide our learning journeys across the year, linking subjects and sparking curiosity about the world near and far.
